This sensational piece of earth is in the town (pueblo) of Mazarron in South East Spain. It is the site of a former silver and lead mine which is now disused but when fully operational, provided the area with its wealth. The local authority in Mazarron has laid out a public walk through the works. At certain times of the week guided toursa are organised in Spanish and English. The local tourist information centres in Mazarron and Puerto de Mazarron will have more details.

  1. This is a really undiscovered part of Spain in the SE Region of Murcia. Mazarron made it's wealth from lead and silver mining. The disused industry can now be explored on foot at the north end of the town. Despite this it is only a couple of miles from the beach. The topography and geology is remarkable.
